Ciudadano Kien carries out the artistic direction and general coordination for the cultural programme of Madrid’s Plaza Mayor IV Centenary.

A broad programme which objective is to bring back Plaza Mayor as the cultural epicentre of the city and pay a tribute to it for its 400 years. In order to achieve that, we created a diverse programme with multitude of languages and artistic disciplines. We designed and produced unique spectacles for the commemoration, and invited big production and festival centres to coproduce, so they could accompany us on the celebration. A programme that included over 40 spectacles and acts and more than 800.000 people. A programme that had unforgettable moments that remained in the collective memory.
