CATEURA BENEFIT CONCERT “RECICLANDO. CONCIERTO DE AÑO NUEVO” (“RECYCLING. NEW YEAR’S CONCERT”) CATEURA’S RECYCLED INSTRUMENT ORCHESTRA
For the fourth consecutive year, Cateura’s Recycled Instruments Orchestra performed at Teatro Real a moving concert that gathered music and solidarity under the concept of recycling.
A concert with the collaboration of many Spanish artists and the Orchestra of Music for Recycling, a musical formation inspired by Cateura’s Orchestra and created by Ecoembes.
Cateura’s Recycled Instruments Orchestra is formed by children and youth from Praguay’s city of Asunción, a marginal neighbourhood built on top of a landfill. Thanks to their wit, and their eagerness, they have created a unique musical band with instruments built from residual materials, such as large cans, cutlery, cereal boxes, cans, milk bricks or oven trays. With this concert, Ecoembes wanted to demonstrate that recycling, besides caring about the environment, can generate second opportunities.
